Side tracked, again

Standard

I’ve spent the past few days continuing to piece four patch blocks for my youngest son’s quilt.  I became restless with the continued lull of the cool color scheme and decided to pull this out for another look.

Don’t you just love the bright cheery colors?  I can barely contain myself with all of the possibilities for embroidery, silk ribbon, beads, buttons, lace and more to fully embellish this.  This will be a wall quilt (20″ x 20″) when completed.

Now the only decision is where to hang it.

Keep it simple.

Cloth and Embellished Fabric Cones

Standard

I just finished up my two fabric cones for a swap on Cloth Paper Studio Yahoo Group.  The idea from these came from Ruth Rae and her article that she did in the Quilting Arts Gifts magazine from 2008.  These are a smaller version using a 5 inch by 5 inch of felt as the base and then adding layers of coffee dyed cheesecloth, ribbon, buttons, pearls and fibers and cotton fabric.  Very sweet.
