Cloth and Embellished Fabric Cones
I just finished up my two fabric cones for a swap on Cloth Paper Studio Yahoo Group. The idea from these came from Ruth Rae and her article that she did in the Quilting Arts Gifts magazine from 2008. These are a smaller version using a 5 inch by 5 inch of felt as the base and then adding layers of coffee dyed cheesecloth, ribbon, buttons, pearls and fibers and cotton fabric. Very sweet.

Coming in September
Nationally known art journalist Kelly Kilmer will be teaching five classes this coming September in Oregon. Our local art studio, Art on a Lark, will host Kelly with a full weekend of classes. I finished adding the felt backing and the beaded edging last night. This piece will be sent off to trade in a swap.
