A Challenge – A Paper Crown

Here is my answer to Laura’s Paper Crown Challenge on her blog, Layers of Color.  This week’s challenge was to create a paper crown using at least one rubber stamp.  I started with a sheet of Fabriano Water Color paper then used two rubber stamps with black StazOn ink.  I punched out the holes in the bottom with a paper punch and then painted over the whole piece with Golden Quinacridone Magenta (I dabbed off some of the paint while it was wet to add some depth).  I used lime green tissue paper glued to the back of the crown to show through the holes and then used a white Sharpie poster pen to paint white dots outlining some of the black stamping.  I attached a ribbon with three stripes of green using my sewing machine and a zig zag stitch.  I then sprayed the whole thing with gold glitter and then added pink silk ribbon to the crown points for a more feminine touch.  Enjoy!!
