Quiltie #1

This quiltie (quiltlet) is the result of digging through my fabric stash last night.  During this time of year I normally start cutting out the pieces for a full size quilt, but decided to try something new by creating this smaller free form version.  I am drawn to black and white mixed in with bold, bright colors and lots of texture.  There are layered fabrics, embroidery, button and beads.  Some of the fabric I tore the edges rather than cut to add yet another textural element.  I love the half orange and will use that again as a focal point.

Keep it Simple!

Hi Dianne – Yes, the orange is cut out from a piece of fabric. I originally bought the fabric to cut out and applique on a shirt, but never got around to creating it.
