I am so happy you decided to stop by and visit my blog. Please take a look around.
First, pull up a chair, grab a cuppa coffee or tea and take a look out my front window. Isn’t this a beautiful Sugar Maple tree?
Here are a few pumpkins to share.
How about a cookie to go with your coffee?
Here is a recipe to make these very scrumptious cookies.
The Great Pumpkin, Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Cookies
-
2 cups flour
-
1 cup oats, uncooked
-
1 teaspoon baking soda
-
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
-
1/2 teaspoon of salt
-
1 cup butter, softened
-
1 cup packed brown sugar
-
1 cup granulated sugar
-
1 egg
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1 cup pumpkin
-
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or raisins)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in one bowl. Cream butter in a separate bowl, gradually add the brown sugar and sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla to the sugar mixture and mix well. Alternate the dry ingredients in the first bowl and the pumpkin with the butter mixture in the second bowl. Mix well after each addition. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop rounded teaspoons of dough onto parchment lined cookie sheets. Bake for 13 minutes, cool for one minute on cookie sheet. Finish cooling cookies on a rack or paper towels. Store cookies in a closed container. Recipe makes ~4 dozen cookies.

Nice party! Thanks. I’d love the quiltlet ’cause it’s adorable and I don’t do quiltlets. The cookies sound yummy, so I’ve copied the recipe.
Beautiful photos and the cookies look delicious. I may even have to break my diet and have one. 😉 Gorgeous Quiltlet. The fabric inside your door reminds me of one I used to make ATCs last year. Who ever wins will be sure to treasure it.
Hope you have a happy Halloween!
XO

Thank you for the cookie recipe. I will take it to my kids.

Marci,
I love your quilt and especially the little door that opens up to “La Catrina!” She’s one of my favorite Muerto characters but I love Day of the Dead and all those little skellies. As for your recipe, I’m going to try those cookies out…yum! Will make a batch for the Day of the Dead party I’m attending this Saturday and will mention where the original recipe came from.
Abrazos,
Georgina
what a wickedly wonderful time I have had! that sugar maple is stunning, the cookie recipe sounds delightful and your quiltlet is superb! I love all that stitchery & beading & the door that opens, well that’s just too clever!
thanks for sharing! ~M~
Hey Marci! Love your quiltie piece. It is Halloweenie yet, day of the dead, too.
I really enjoyed seeing your Sugar Maple. I did not see one tree this year turn colors. All of the trees here were salt damaged from the hurricanes, they just turned brown a couple days after the storms blew through. I did not get to go to my annual trip to the mountains due to my broken foot so your tree has been it. It is beautiful!
I don’t know if I will win your quiltie piece, but, If I did I would treasure it. It would be an awesome reminder of the fall that never was. Honestly, I would just like a little piece of your art work I so admire.
Yummy cookies!
That little quilt would work well with all my little Halloween quilts!
It would have a place of honor every year!
Viki
Hi Marci – stunning stunning tree – I can see trees out of all my windows but your sugar maple is stunning (sorry for repeating myself). Your quiltlet is amazing – all that detail – it would fit very nicely in a space just above my computer screen – lol. Take care …..
So glad I stopped by for some Halloween fun! So many wonderfully festive images! Happy Halloween!
Love your Quiltie!
Wish I had your beautiful tree and I copied off that yummy recipe!
Great party!!

Your page is awesome. Love that tree! I’m so into trees these days and they keep showing up in some fashion in my artwork. That little quiltlet is adorable and the detail work is spectacular. It would be a great memento of the first blog party that I hosted.

I would love to win your fun and spooky quitlet. The perfect addition to my Halloween art.
Fun Party and the cookies were yummy. The quiltlet is lovely and would look wonderful on my art wall. 🙂
You asked about the dogs in my party post and I should have said, in the post, that I found the image in a halloween email sent to me by my daughter. Photographer is unknown. After your comment I added that same note to the post.
