One of my art buddies, Elizabeth, posted this tutorial on her blog and I have been anxiously waiting to make one. Well last night I took a break from the concertina journal to try one of these books. WOW! This was easy peasy and the different options that you could incorporate are endless.
Here is my version. This is the front of the journal.
Here is a view of the top.
And below is a view of the inside.
I like the simplicity of the brown bags so I chose not to put a cover on the front or back. I have the three signatures which will give me 60 pages to art up. I’ve decided to use this as a “glue” book which means I will be cutting out images from magazines, books, newspapers, etc and glue them onto the pages.
I have a business trip to Las Vegas coming up in a little over a week and I think I will pack this journal along with a few supplies (glue sticks, markers, colored pencils, scissors) and collect things from Vegas to put into this. I’m thinking of images that are glitzy and over-the-top, just like Vegas. Should be fun. Stay tuned for more.
