I am hosting a Fabric ATC (Artist Trading Card) swap in March and wanted to make a few beforehand to share with the on line group. I finished up the first one last night.
This is very similar to a mini quilt. There are three layers; top, batting and backing. The difference is that I chose to bead and embroider on the top and through the batting only. The backing does not show the stitches. I cut the backing about one inch larger than the top and double folded the edges then hand stitched it to the top. I used button hole silk thread for the embroidery stitches. I just love that – it goes through the fabric like butter.
I will be making a few more samples over the next week – stay tuned for more.
Keep it simple!
Muy bonitos todo
This is so pretty! I would have thought it is a wall hanging if you hadn’t said it was an ATC!
