than seeing your artwork published in a book?
Tonight I received my copy of L.K. Ludwig’s newly released book “Collaborative Art Journals and Shared Visions in Mixed Media”.
As I began to turn page after page, soaking in the beautiful candy, I was taken back when I looked at a page, recognized it and then looked underneath the photo to see this:
artist: Marci Glenn
Oh sweet affirmation! Really, is there anything better than to be acknowledged as the person you knew you always were? Thank you L.K. for including my art in the same book with so many talented, fabulous, well-known artists!
Marci, congratulations on being published!! You deserve the honors!
I just found your blog and look forward to visiting frequently!
(I sure miss you at ABC!!)
I think you hit the nail on the head with the “is there anything better than to be acknowledged as the person you knew you always were?” Too often we who make things, are just thought of as strange, not in the “real” world or something else similar to that. It’s a real affirmation as you said to find yourself in print as it’s real, it’s seeable, you can show others that someone saw your work as worthy. It’s great to be noticed for what you make since it really is the you coming into the piece.
Woohoo! so cool…congratulations!
Congratulations, Marci! I’ll look for your page when I find the book.
Marci, that is just FABULOUS and so well deserved! can’t wait to see it.
Congratulations Marci! Can you share your page here? Is that allowed? I’d love to see it.
Congratulations!! How exciting! I need to get my copy, now!! 🙂
Doing the Happy Dance for you!! How did you find out where to submitt your art work?
Hi Laura! This was not an open call for art. I was part of a group of 12 that participated in a year long altered calendar swap. L.K. sent a direct request asking for permission to publish one of the altered calendars and my art was a part of that.
Yay Marci! Congratulations! I am in one of the projects in this book too. I can’t wait to see the book.
Hi, Marci! Congratulations! Wooooo-hooooo! 🙂
