I read this post from Alisa Burke at Redefine Creativity and decided that I had to make one.
This is a 6 inch by 6 inch stretched canvas that was primed with gesso and had the first coat of paint. It had been waiting on the side lines for my muse to kick in and I just decided to hijack it and made it into a wall calendar following Alisa’s tutorial. I added lots of layers of paint, writing in between the layers, stenciled flowers and then I used a dip pen with black india ink to create some outlines around the flowers. The small calendar is applied with Tombow adhesive and then outlined with a graphite pencil. At the end of each month you just tear off the page to reveal the next month. Viola. This was fun, quick, easy and a great way to hang some art around the house and in the office. Enjoy!
OMG!! This calender is totally gorgeous!! What a fab job you made of it!! Love your stitching sneek peak too! 🙂 carole

Wow–beautiful painting!!
Very nice. Your painting is lovely. I have some of those canvasses sitting waiting for the “right” moment too.
Great idea! I love your painterly canvas calendar!
