Last night was my youngest son’s 12th birthday.  I had a house full of boys up until way past midnight.  So, what’s a mom to do?  Let the boys be boys and mom will go play in the art room.

I like how the colors blended on this page.  Lots of depth in the many layers.  I learned this technique from Roben-Marie Smith in one of her on-line art classes, Mixed Media Meyhem, that I participated in a few years ago.

These pages were created using tube watercolors, gesso, Adirondack color wash spray, and liquid watercolor spray.

Oh, I almost forgot.  If you are even close to Portland, Oregon, you will want to stop in to view the road tour of the 2012 Sketchbook Project sponsored by Art House Co-op.  The traveling sketchbooks will be in the Cleaners Room at the  Ace Hotel  today and tomorrow (May 12-13) from 1-5pm.
